When you use thedict manager to add dict, you don't need to uncompress dict files if you are using this kind of files:

.tar, .tar.gz,.tar.bz2,.zip,.jar.

For files compressed in other format, you need to uncompress them first.

If you choosing to install the dicts manually, you need to uncompress them yourself.
